TV: Samurai Jack

Show was so good.

COMIC: Slaine

Art by Simon Bisley

COMIC: Black Panther: The Client

COMICS: Little Nemo in Slumberland

Winsor McCay's Little Nemo is still one of the most gorgeous things I've ever seen.

COMIC: The Avengers: The Korvac Saga

The Korvac Saga keeps coming up on lists of "comics you must read" and "best Avengers stories" lists, and I've never heard of it, let alone read it.

COMICS: Green Wake

Green Wake is a very unusual, gorgeous, complex book.

COMIC: Black Science

COMIC: Wednesday Comics

DC comics brought back the weekly, newspaper-format comics strips for a while and this is the collection of them. Everyone involved is super-talented.

COMICS: the works of Paul Pope

I've come across Paul Pope's work mostly from anthologies but everything he does is gorgeous and strange.

I want to read everything Paul Pope does.

Heavy Liquid

Battling Boy is his latest book.

The Death of Haggard West is the prequel to Battling Boy disguised at the final issue of the non-existent The Invincible Haggard West comic.

100%

Another (obviously) Battling Boy related book.

The One Trick Rip-Off

COMICS: Punisher by Garth Ennis

Garth Ennis (of Preacher fame) took on The Punisher a few years ago.

I picked up the first collection and enjoyed it.

A list of the trades.

(minus the one I have)

Vol. 2

Vol. 3

Vols. 4 - 13

COMICS: Annihilation

Annihilation was a 3-part crossover from Marvel, from a few years back.

BOOK: The Left Hand of Darkness by Ursula K. LeGuin

BOOK: Dangerous Visions (anthology) edited by Harlan Ellison

This is a collection of short science fiction stories that was edited by Harlan Ellison.
It's credited as being incredibly influential.

I believe this is the most recent cover
(it has been reprinted a number of times over the years)

COMICS: Amazing Spider Man by JMS

This run of The Amazing Spider Man was written by J. Michael Straczyncki and is supposed to be great.

Vol. 1: Coming Home

Vol. 2: Revelations

TV: Better Off Ted Season 1

This show was underrated.

TEE: Kool Keith

Kool Keith is a mad scientist.

BOOK: You Might Remember Me (Life and Times of Phil Hartman) by Mike Thomas

BOOK: Imaginary Magnitude by Stanislaw Lem

BOOK ? : The Eye of Argon by Jim Theis

So this is a weird one. This guy, Jim Theis, wrote some fan fiction that got published in a fan zine in the 70's. It was awful. But somehow, through people photocopying and sharing, it has become an underground must-read. "possibly the worst story ever written".

I've looked into this one and it's hard to find copies and the ones you CAN find are expensive, so in the spirit of the backstory above, I will gladly accept a print-out of Argon, if someone wants to download the PDF and print it out.

Maybe put it in one of those college report-cover things...

COMICS: the works of James Stokoe

James Stokoe is a wild artist and a completely unique writer.

I picked up a book of his called Orc Stain, which is a very weird take on the sword and sorcery genre, and immediately became a lifelong fan.

Wanton Soup was the first collection of his early work. This is the newest print of it.

This is available on Cheap Graphic Novels, a website specializing in exactly that:

www (dot) CheapGraphicNovels (dot) com

I've used them in the past and they were excellent. LOTS of comics, probably a BUNCH on my list here, at reduced rates. Good deal, right?

COMICS: Fear Agent

This book has a serious cult following and I'm a big fan of pretty much everyone involved.

STUFF: Kobayashi Porcelain coffee mug

This is a replica of the mug from (SPOILERS) the climactic reveal of The Usual Suspects.

This is available on Last Exit to Nowhere, a site that makes goods based on cult films.

www (dot) LastExitToNowhere (dot) com

There are, honestly, SO MANY things from this site that I think are fantastic!

BOOK: Oryx and Crake by Margaret Atwood

Atwood is a legend and a badass and a genius and I love her work.

BOOKS: The Illuminatus Trilogy by Robert Shea & Robert Anton Wilson

A trilogy written by wild pranksters about the greatest conspiracy theory of all time.

VINYL RECORDS: The Burning Brides

One of my favorite bands ever. But I don't have any of their albums on vinyl.

The Fall of the Plastic Empire

Leave No Ashes

Hang Love
